We offer tutoring for K-12 students. Whether it is homework, a concept they have learned in class, or preparing for a standardized test, we have credentialed teachers to assist them every day of the week.

- We are currently offering free assessments for our new students to determine their skill level and develop unique lessons.
- Assessments are currently available only for English and Math, and last approximately 45 minutes per subject.

The Mental Math, or Abacus, program plays a key role in our endeavor. While it is designed to enhance the speed and accuracy of arithmetic calculation, its true purpose is to exercise one’s cognitive abilities, which extends beyond strengthening and conditioning a student’s math comprehension skills. This is achieved by engaging students in activities that require them to memorize, visualize, and analyze in class and at home, stimulating both hemispheres of the brain.

Demonstrations
Students attend Abacus class once a week for a total of 4 classes per month. Each class is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Evaluation
Our first goal upon enrollment is to identify the skill level of each student. We want them to excel, and placing a student appropriately is a must. We will provide an eligibility exam to determine their entry point. There may be students who are not ready for the program, due to age or skill levels. There are three different entry levels.
- 1 MPH – Focuses on becoming familiar with single digit numbers through addition and subtraction, by repetition.
- 5 MPH – Focuses on becoming familiar with double digit numbers through addition and subtraction, by repetition
- 10 MPH – Studies the algorithms of the abacus and seeks to enhance arithmetic calculation.
Syllabus
In the Mental Math Program, there are circuits (levels) and tracks (lessons). A total of 10 circuits are available, ranging from 1 MPH to 80 MPH. Here is a list of the notable circuits:
- 1 MPH – Adding and subtracting single-digit numbers using the abacus
- 10 MPH – adding and subtracting double-digit numbers with combinations, using abacus, finger theory, and visualization.
- 30 MPH – Adding, subtracting, and multiplying with decimals, up to triple-digit numbers, using abacus and visualization.
- 50 MPH – Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing with fractions, up to 5 digit numbers, using abacus and visualization
- 80 MPH – Adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing with fractions, squares and square roots, cubes and cube roots, up to 5 digit numbers, using abacus and visualization.
The number of tracks per circuit are:
- 1-60 MPH – 16 tracks per circuit
- 70-80 MPH – 20 tracks per circuit

The cost for the Mental Math program is $199.99/month.

- 4-month purchase = 2 hours of 1-to-1 tutoring for free
- 8-month purchase = 5 hours of 1-to-1 tutoring for free
- 12-month purchase = 8 hours of 1-to-1 tutoring for free
Additionaly, there are startup fees:

A sibling discount of $20 per month is available to those enrolling multiple students.
The purpose of the math advancement program is to help students master the traditional methods or approaches to meath. Simple put, we want students to become fluent in math. It is also designed to take a student’s math level above and beyond their current level.
- The cost is $9.99/hour
- There is a $25 registration fee (one-time only)
- 6 month contract upon enrollment
- cancellation fee is 1 month of purchased hours
- Hours can be put on hold, but parents will continue to pay
- For example, if a parent enters the program from the first of January until the end of June, but is unavailable in the month of March, they will pay in March and continue the program until the end of July instead.
- There is a minimum and maximum amount of purchasable hours per month.
- Minimum: 10 hours per month
- Maximum: 15 hours per month
- For comparison, Kumon charges $150/month for only 4 hours

- The Advancement and Homework Help programs are available as walk-ins, without a need to schedule in advance.
- Tutoring does need to be scheduled at least 2 days in advance.

- As the name suggests, students have unlimited hours every month instead of a fixed amount
- Every month, students can learn and study math and work on their math homework for as long as they want at our center.
- Teachers will be available to guide and assist as always with the program and their math homework

The Schoolday Program is our most popular program, currently
- Our Schoolday Program allows students to come in and have a safe, sanitary, supervised environment for them to complete their distance learning programs with CCSD
- We monitor each student to make sure they are performing their best in each class, and provide them with the tools to complete their work, as well as provide assistance in getting them connected.
- Pricing starts at $35/day, or $150/week
- Students may attend from 7:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., with early drop-off and late pickup options available
- After the Schoolday Program concludes for the day, we have additional homework help programs available after school hours.
All monthly payments now offer a new weekly financing option to pay week-by-week. Weekly options require a credit or debit card to set up autopay
Sapience is heavily involved with its community through multiple platforms.
Outreach
The Sapience offers free brain exercise workshops at schools. Sapience coaches will teach children how to use the abacus tool, solve problems with finger theory, and explain the benefits of brain exercise!
Weekly Free Public Community Workshops
We hose free weekly youth workshops, containing a wide variety of engaging activities such as brain exercises, yoga, boxing, art, drama, and more! The purpose is to help children gain or develop interest in something new to build their confidence in learning.
Competitions
We also host and sponsor math competitions to promote the importance and reward of competing.
We have started a new community outreach program, Community Homework Help. Students will have direct access to a teacher in a small classroom of 8 or fewer students, in order to ask questions or seek help on their school homework.
- This program is 100% free to enroll in, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You do not need to be a member of a Sapience class to attend.
- Walk-ins not allowed, as space is limited. Please register ahead of time for a 90-minute block.
